Ryder was in the grade below me at FSW. It has been almost 8 years and I can still remember almost all my interactions with him. We rode the bus together and he was always so cheerful. A memory I look back on but took for granted in the moment was one day we were both sitting at the bus stop each under a tree it was a nice afternoon just very quiet and windy. I barely knew him but I still think about him and I have to take a moment to cry. So sorry for your loss.

I know it has been a long time, so I am sorry to Mr. and Mrs. Schermerhorn if this causes distress of any kind, but I was reminded of Ryer recently, and I didn't voice my feelings here when he was lost, despite having many of them. To this day I remember Ryer as the first person who stood up for me. I remember how surprised I was when someone was there to support me, against the ill will of

Scouting connected us to your wonderful son Ryer, and we are devastated to learn of your loss. Leeson was a friend and Sniperz patrol mate of Ryer and was very sad to learn of his death. Please accept our condolences for this injustice. If you want to talk, please e-mail or call. My number is available through Scoutmaster Dr. A.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Schermerhorn, my beautiful son, Tyler (13 years old at the time of his suicide) passed away on 11/17/2005. I REALLY WISHED THAT ANOTHER FMILY THAT HAD GONE THRU THE SAME THING WOULD'VE CONTACTED ME DURING THAT DIFFICULT TIME, SO THAT'S WHY I AM CONTACTING YOU. I wanted you both to read this poem that has kept me remembering how wonderful BOTH our sons are: DO NOT STAND AT MY GRAVE AND WEEP. I AM NOT THERE,

Dear Cousin,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you also. Please be confident in the excellent job you both did raising your son. It is reflected here by your friends and family. Although we are distances apart, we want you to know we are here if you need a friend to talk to. Love, Kim LaRoy

Karen and Scott,

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Although I did not know Ryer as a young man, I know he must have been a wonderful person because he was raised by the two of you. Always remember the good times you shared and keep these memories in your heart forever.

It is with great sadness and an extremely heavy heart that we must share our condolences to the Schermerhorn family. Ryer was a kind and wonderful young man. The world has suffered a great loss. We were given the opportunity to have Ryer in our scuba diving classes and to share his love of diving with him and his father Scott.
Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Mr and Mrs Schermerhorn,
My father and I would like to offer you our condolences. Ryer was a great friend and a great scout, and we are deeply sorry about this tragic event. Even though I didn't know him that well, I always could see what a caring and talented young man he was. He always had a witty comment to add to a discussion, and was very humorous as well. The world lost a truly great human being,

It is with a very heavy heart that we give our deepest condolences to Karen and Scott from the Jameson family. We cannot even begin to imagine your pain and what you are going through right now. BJ and Ryer practically grew up in Troop 100 together and shared many good times, memories that will last a lifetime. He will be missed, our hearts break for you.
