Maria "Toni" Batista Obituary

Maria "Toni" Batista, 78, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away on December 16, 2014 at her Port Charlotte residence.

Born February 11, 1936 in Puerto Rico to the late Alfonso and Juana Colon, Toni, a longtime resident of Brentwood, L.I., New York and retired X-Ray Technician, moved with her husband Jose E. Batista, to the Port Charlotte area in 1996. She attended San Antonio Catholic Church of Port Charlotte.

She is survived by a son, Marc Batista of Port Charlotte; two grandchildren, Brianna and Marc "Joey" Batista of Long Island, NY; two sisters, Carmen "Millie" Hasanoeddin of NY, and Elsie Crespo of CA; three nieces, a nephew, and her loving dog and companion, Penny. In addition to her parents, Toni was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Jose, in 2007.

Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. this Friday, January 30, 2015 at San Antonio Catholic Church. A private committal will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte.
