Kurt O. Rossner Obituary

Kurt O. Rossner, the son of the late Oscar E Rossner and Elisabeth Rossner, died on April 10th 2015 at his home in Port Charlotte, Florida. Kurt had been sick for several weeks and was transferred to his home where he died in his sleep with his family by his side. Kurt was born in Milwaukee Wisconsin in 1933 as a first generation American citizen. He went to Hampton elementary school and Custer high school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, graduating in 1951. He played football in high school and loved Wisconsin bratwurst and Milwaukee custard. After high school, Kurt enrolled at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and become a proud brother of Chi Phi fraternity. Kurt served as a Captain in the US Army Corp of Engineers during the Korean War. He graduated with a BS degree in Civil Engineering in 1957 and went to work for Armco Steel as a sales engineer. While working the territory in Jefferson City, Missouri his met his future wife, Harriett Koester. They were married in 1962 and soon moved to Overland Park, Kansas where they started a family with son, Kurt, and daughter Elizabeth. He enjoyed going to Chiefs and Royals games and loved taking his family to German festivals and great vacations to Disney World, Colorado, California and Wisconsin. He had a passion for the stock market and was a gifted investor for over 50 years. Kurt and his family were members of Christ Lutheran Church in Lenexa, Kansas in the 80s and 90s. Kurt and Harriett retired in 1993 and they moved to Port Charlotte, Florida to bask in the Florida sun and play golf. Mr. Rossner is survived by his loving family, wife Harriett, son Kurt (Vida) of Denver, CO and daughter Elizabeth (Steve) O'Beirne of St. Petersburg, FL; Grandchildren, Blake, Molly and Summer O'Beirne and Kurt B. and Grace Rossner.
