Violet M. Michalezka, 88, of Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda, Florida passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in Port Charlotte.
Violet was born March 19, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Ethel M. and Charles E. Kling. In her youth during World War II, Violet worked manufacturing Camouflage Netting used to hide Air Bases, Air craft and other important war materials. After the war she married Paul Michalezka, and together raised a son and daughter. They moved from her native Philadelphia to Punta Gorda in 1991, and were members of Burnt Store Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her children, son and daughter-in-law, Paul A. and Beverly Michalezka, Sr. of Port Charlotte, FL, and daughter and son-in-law, Barbara J. and Steven Newhart of Arlington, TX; five grandchildren, Michele Mendelson, Jennifer Michalezka, Erica Newhart, Paul Michalezka, Jr., and Stephen Newhart; four great grandchildren, Ashlee, Colton and Brooke Mendelson, and Izabella Pari; three sisters, Ethel Hiller, Florence Miller, and Jacquilyn Ardilletz; two brothers, Phillip and Glenn Kling; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by a sister, Isabell Levering, two brothers, Charles (Jr.) and Elwood Kling, and on January 13, 2000, her beloved husband Paul.
A Memorial service celebrating Violets' life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Burnt Store Presbyterian Church. Rev. Tim Stewart will officiate.
