Jimmy Edgar Dulaney, 84, of Port Charlotte, Florida died peacefully Friday, June 15, 2012 at Tidewell Hospice, Inc. in Port Charlotte.
He was born in Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania in 1928 as the son of Addie Marie Dulaney and Charlie Dulaney. He served honorably in the United States Navy for 2 years aboard the tanker USS Chikaskia as a helmsman. He and Alfreda were married 56 years. They were the proud owners of JE Dulaney Oil Company for 20 years. He served many volunteer positions over the years including 28 years with the Mt. Morris Volunteer Fire Dept., the Perry Township School Board, and the Morgantown, WV Rotary and on the Board of Directors at the Pines Country Club. His passion was golfing and he enjoyed many happy years in Florida golfing with his wife and good friends at the Port Charlotte Golf Course. He will be missed most as an admired and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was the standard for truth and humble integrity.
He is survived by his wife Alfreda, daughter Dr. Jaimela Dulaney, granddaughter Addie Marie Dulaney as well as his brother Bob, sisters Kathleen, DoraMae, Vickey, and Annabelle. His parents Charles and Addie Marie Dulaney, and sister Sharon preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at Millikan and Throckmorton Funeral Home, Mt. Morris, PA. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt. Morris, PA.
